GURFILTER Declaration Regarding SVHC REACH Regulation (EC No. 1907/2006)

The new European Community Regulation concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical Substances (REACH) entered into force on June 1st 2007.

According to the REACH, most GURFILTER products are defined as 'Articles' and, as such, are subject to the requirements pertaining to 'substances in articles' as defined in Articles 7 and 33 of the Regulation, i.e. registration (where applicable), notification and obligation to communicate information in the supply chain. According to Article 7.2 of the REACH Regulation, every European manufacturer / importer of articles must notify the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) if he manufactures / imports articles containing Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC), and if the substance present in those articles is at a concentration above 0.1% w/w (by weight) and if a cumulative amount exceeds one ton per year for each manufacturer / importer. According to Article 33 of the REACH Regulation, every supplier of an article containing any substance defined as SVHC at a concentration above 0.1% w/w, is obligated to provide his customers with information on the name of such substance(s) and on safe usage of the article. As of December 15th 2010, the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) has published 46 substances defined as SVHC, which are included in the Candidate List for Authorization. This list is updated periodically. As of February 17th 2011, the European Union announced the first six substances from the SVHC Candidate List which have been added to the EC 1907/2006 Annex XIV of the REACH Regulation. This means that these six substances will be banned within the next three to five years unless an authorization for their use is granted to individual companies.

GURFILTER hereby confirms that we are aware of the most updated list of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) as per the European REACH Regulation (EC No.1907/2006) and declare, accordingly, as follows:

None of the chemicals appearing in the list of substances defined as SVHC and in the phased-out list (REACH - Annex XIV) are incorporated in the products imported and / or manufactured and / or supplied by us to you, according to the updated information available to us.
